How Siteware Helped EDP Automate Processes and Gain Better Control Over Internal Results
EDP Brasil has 23 years of experience in the electric power market. The organization is committed to delivering excellence in its segment and was recognized by ABRADEE (the Brazilian Association of Electricity Distributors) in 2017. EDP is a subsidiary of Portugal’s Energias de Portugal and operates in the Brazilian states of São Paulo and Espírito Santo.
Growth and recognition come with greater responsibilities. Facing that challenge, EDP turned to Siteware. Below, we share how Siteware helped EDP automate internal processes, gain tighter control over results, and reduce errors and rework — all powered by STRATWs One.
Where It All Began
EDP needed to automate its company-wide goal management. Previously, the process was handled via spreadsheets, requiring multiple email reminders to different contributors responsible for updating information. With more than 400 indicators to track, the work quickly became complex.
STRATWs One came as a recommendation from Votorantim, a Siteware customer for over 15 years. A People Analytics specialist at EDP saw the platform in action, recognized its value, and reached out to us. Our then Director of Expansion, Guilherme Esperidião, presented the software to EDP’s team; after negotiations, the partnership was finalized.
During implementation, Rafael Corrêa, Organizational Development Analyst at EDP, told us Siteware adapted the goal intervals to match EDP’s existing nomenclature. The scorecard was also customized, making the platform easier to use.
Rafael also noted greater maturity among those responsible for updating indicators. Compared to spreadsheets, STRATWs One has strengthened accountability and control across the process.
Results Seen So Far
The system has been live at EDP for just three months, and many hours previously spent on results management have already been saved. Data collection is now decentralized: each indicator has a designated owner. Because EDP holds a monthly results meeting, there’s a deadline to input indicators in the system. Once the cutoff passes, input is locked; new entries require emailing the administrators with a valid justification.
On spreadsheets, Rafael told us numbers could change five minutes before a presentation, disrupting the workflow. Now, the team can clearly see who missed a deadline and where calculation errors occurred. Previously, two employees served as the central bottleneck and were often (unfairly) blamed due to the lack of control.
EDP continually looks to optimize how the system is used. They built an internal automation to email due dates for data entry, and they created a how-to presentation shared company-wide. This reduces training to targeted Q&A, since coordinating calendars for full sessions can be difficult.
And they’re just getting started!
Our partnership has only just begun, and we’re already moving forward on a new project together—supporting EDP’s continued growth and pursuit of recognition that reflects the quality of its work, such as ABRADEE’s award. We’re excited to keep building on this momentum and achieve outstanding results side by side.
